Section 7 of the Intestate Succession Act determines the proportion of distribution of the deceased's estate to survivors such as spouse, children, parents, siblings, grandparents, uncles and aunts, depending on which group of survivors are present. These rules do not apply to Muslims, where distribution of property of a deceased Muslim domiciled in Singapore at the time of death is governed by Muslim law and the Syariah Court.
